Musically - you bet. Emotionally - I wouldn't stand a chance, but if is was a good bit younger I might dream............

I like her music a lot, not yet as much as I do like her parents' music, but them are not easy to beat in my ranking of preferences.

Wolfgang ...

But have you heard her sing "Diego's Bold Shore"? Hearing her sing it live on the Folkworks tour was, for me, the musical highlight of last year. It was one of those lump-in-throat, dizzying moments which will stay with me for some time. (The version on "A Dark Light" comes pretty close ... and is probably the track I've played most over the past few months.) I think Lize will simply get better and better as the years roll on and she settles into a more permanent groove.

By the way ... I came home from the pub late last night a tad pisht after a session and made a posting which I thought was vaguely funny. But in sobriety it doesn't read at all funny. Lesson Number 569 ... don't make postings when you're twisted!

Aidan,

I guess you have it right with the effect of the years rolling on. Many truly good singers (musicians) become better with age. Maybe in ten years I'll say Waterson and Carthy were very good but you must hear their daughter....

I prefer the Wrigley sisters. That Orcadian accent sends me wild.

Well ...

If we're talkin' fine healthy folksinging and fiddling weemin that ye'd like to coort, I wouldn't mind a blarge at thon Cathy Jordan blade.

Let's be realistic ... it's that long since I've had a slice, I'd damn near tackle thon Enya.

Ah, Jaysus. Let's tell the truth. I'd have a go at Margaret Barry, God rest 'er, if she was still livin'! I would, in sowl. God help us.

This is definitely a music-related thread, because she bears a striking resemblance to Boy George.

I must admit there are a number of young ? ladies on the scene who I
could fancy, even if its only for making music type music with.Eliza
could definately have me if she played her cards right, but so could Sandra Kerr or her daughter! Perhaps I am just a frustrated Dirty Old Man. See you at Porta ferry.
