27 Jan 00 - 09:39 PM (#169459) Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: FOREST LAWN (Tom Paxton) From: raredance When you have a bunch of songs that you want, it is much better to start a thread listing only one in the thread title. It is also a good idea to check the database first to see what is there. In these two cases a request for the chords would have been more appropriate since the lyrics are in the DT. I copied and pasted the lyrics from the DT in their entirety here becasue the DT lyrics are slightly messed up with lines out of order. FOREST LAWN (Tom Paxton)
Oh, lay me (C)down in Forest Lawn in a silver (G7)casket,
Oh lay me down in Forest Lawn, they understand there,
Oh, (G)come, come, come, come,
To find a simple resting place is my desire

27 Jan 00 - 09:59 PM (#169473) Subject: Chords Add: CINDY'S CRYIN' (Tom Paxton) From: raredance My mistake, you only asked for the chords, but it's still better to separate threads. Here's Cindy's Cryin' with a couple comments to correct minor errors in the DT lyrics. CINDY'S CRYIN'
(G)Cindy's Cryin' but it (C)ain't no (G)use In the second refrain it should be: I know you can make it but you better START (not stop) tryin'. In the third refrain: We can make it but we better START (not stop) tryin' rich r |
27 Jan 00 - 10:15 PM (#169486) Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: EV'RY TIME (WHEN WE ARE GONE) From: raredance I couldn' find this one in the DT EV'RY TIME (WHEN WE ARE GONE) by Tom Paxton (1962)
(E)Ev'ry time I (A)hear a sweet bird (E)singin'
(E)And they will ring,
Ev'ry time I hear your soft voice hummin'
I will love you, Tom lapsed into a little bad grammar here, and object phrase should be "you and me" not "you and I". I fear the kid is never going to make it as a songwriter. rich r |

However this will probably be the last one. I didn't see this one in the DT ALL NIGHT LONG by Tom Paxton (1969)
(C)All night (Em)long,
