Louth Folk Club - new venue?

Subject: Louth Folk Club - new venue?
From: Sooz

On Tuesday evening the bar in the Olde Whyte Swanne was empty while the back room was packed with Folk Club attendees. The landlady presented the club with a letter stating that in future she would be asking for 25 to hire the room.
Result - in a fortnight she can have a completely empty pub while the club meets elsewhere (probably the Mason's Arms).
Saves all that washing up and a trip to the bank I suppose......

Not the first pub that has not appreciated the business of course but when they realise how they have cut their own throats it's too late.
That room is only worth a fiver a go anyway......OOOps.

The Mason's is a really nice pub, and has just won CAMRA's Town Pub of the Year award, so I hope its the new venue.....hopefully should be a bit less claustrophobic!
Regards,
Myrtle.

Perhaps she got fed up with all the pissed-up Lincolnshire backwoodsmen that the club attracted? :-)
Or maybe she's a close relative of our dear Countess? She certainly seems to be just as deranged and up her own rectum.

Maybe she is thinking of opening a rester....restaure.....Doing bar meals in there?

So what night is Louth Folk Club - just in case I can make it when I'm one of my occasional trips back to Lincolnshire?

2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. They're a very friendly crowd, and treat visitors very well indeed. Highly recommended.

Is Dean Hardy a resident at Louth? Dave Fletcher and I were in the same class at school.

I think we would both like to see him. I know Nick Flynn, another old friend would also.

Just spoke to the m.c. and Louth folk club is moving to the Mason's Arms in the cornmarket, Louth. First night there is Tuesday 12th June, then every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Still at the Whyte Swanne for 22nd of this month though. The Mason's has just won CAMRA award for 'town pub of the year'. Please pm me if you require any more info.

Thats a bummer for them.
Time they went to a village hall or social club. Not so enchanting but more likeley to be available when you want it.

Doh!
Maybe we should club together and buy a big camper van then run it as a mobile music venue in the villages.

Ahh BBP.
How are you ?
You know I'm sorry but its quite nice not to be the only one stuck on the outside while all the fun is going on.
I feel like one of the urchins in a Dickens novel.
I shall try not to get to much snot on the window as I stare in at all the lucky ones.
