Subject: Lyr Add: ONE MORE MINUTE (Weird Al Yankovic)
From: Ralph Butts

I'm willin' to bet this is the one you want.....Tiger

One More Minute - "Weird Al" Yankovic

Well, I heard that you're leavin',
Gonna leave me far behind,
'Cause you found a brand new lover,
You decided that I'm not your kind,

So, I pulled your name out of my Rolodex,
And I tore all your pictures in two,
And I burned down the malt shop where we used to go,
Just because it reminds me of you.

That's right, you ain't gonna see me cryin'.
I'm glad that you found somebody new,
'Cause I'd rather spend eternity eating shards of broken glass,
Than spend one more minute with you.

I guess I might seem kinda bitter.
You got me feelin' down in the dumps.
'Cause I'm stranded all alone in the Gas Station of Love,
And I have to use the self-service pumps!

Oh, so, honey, let me help you with that suitcase.
You ain't gonna break my heart in two.
'Cause I'd rather get a hundred thousand paper cuts on my face,
Than spend one more minute with you.

I'd rather rip out my intestines with a fork,
Than watch you going out with other men.
I'd rather slam my fingers in a door,
Again and again and again and again and again.
(Aw, can't you see what I'm tryin' to say, darlin'.)

I'd rather have my blood sucked out by leeches,
Shove an ice pick under a toenail or two.
I'd rather clean all the bathrooms in Grand Central Station with my tongue,
Than spend one more minute with you.

Yes, I'd rather jump naked on a huge pile of thumbtacks,
Or stick my nostrils together with Krazy Glue.
I'd rather dive into a swimming pool filled with double-edged razor blades,
Than spend one more minute with you.

I'd rather rip my heart right out of my rib cage with my bare hands,
And then throw it on the floor and stomp on it till I die...
Than spend one more minute with you.

Subject: RE: Weird Al song...filk? Help!

The song is called YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE and can be found on "Off The Deep End". It is a Weird Al original but was done in the style of all those heavy metal bands of the 80's who wanted to show how sensitive they really were by recording an acoustic song. There is a video of this song that is really funny.

It'd be rather interesting to do a "serious" version of the song. *grin*. Kind of a reverse parody...

Twenty years later, it is high time that the song in question
was finally quoted in full on this thread.

Would it be appropriate to
alter the thread title accordingly?

YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE

Words and Music by Weird Al Yankovic

We've been together for so very long
But now things are changing, oh I wonder what's wrong
Seems you don't want me around
The passion is gone and the flame's died down
I guess I lost a little bit of self-esteem
That time that you made it with the whole hockey team
You used to think I was nice
Now you tell all your friends that I'm the Antichrist

Oh why did you disconnect the brakes on my car
That kind of thing is hard to ignore
Got a funny feeling
You don't love me anymore

I knew that we were having problems when
You put those piranhas in my bathtub again
You're still the light of my life
Oh darling I'm beggin' won't you put down that knife
You know I even think it's kinda cute the way
You poison my coffee just a little each day
I still remember the way that you laughed
When you pushed me down that elevator shaft

Oh if you don't mind me asking what's this poisonous cobra
Doing in my underwear drawer
Sometimes I get to thinking
You don't love me anymore

You slammed my face down on the barbecue grill
Now my scars are all healing but my heart never will
You set my house on fire
You pulled out my chest hairs with an old pair of pliers
Oh you think that I'm ugly and you say that I'm cheap
You shaved off my eyebrows while I was asleep
You drilled a hole in my head
Then you dumped me in a drainage ditch and left me for dead

Oh you know this really isn't like you at all
You never acted this way before
Honey, something tells me
You don't love me anymore

oh no no
Got a funny feeling
You don't love me anymore

-- from the album Off the Deep End, 1992
