I guess I can't really claim to be middle-aged anymore. When the Big Bang occurred, I'm the one who said, "What the hell was that!???"

For a really authoritative answer to the questions posed we need to hear from two very notable middle-aged men:

Bill Clinton and William Shatner!

For ladies of a certain age:

Don't think of it as getting hot flashes. Think of it as your inner child playing with matches.

In general:

Don't let aging get you down. It's too hard to get back up again.

The following is worth keeping in mind (if you can remember it):

The Senility Prayer

Lord, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked,
The good fortune to run into the ones I do,
And the eyesight to tell the difference.

Well I was quite pleased with my new clothes - the trousers a soft olive green, the tee-shirt in 'buttermilk' and the jacket, parchment. Then I saw what was wrong . . . my hair. My HAIR is turning beige.
It's not wearing beige that's the problem, it's BEING beige.

Sitting in bar with one of my 50+ year-old buddies, he asked me,
"Billy, have you ever been to bed with two girls in their 20s at the same time?"
"No, Fred," said I, "How much did that cost you?"

Depends how far they take the lusting. I know of a couple of gentlemen of advanced years who do seem to need the attention of much younger ladies - whether they would go any further than flirting I'm not sure.

It does seem to be a predominantly male thing - there are some women who go for toyboys but most seem content with their peers, or older men.

Nah - Missus and telly for me anyday. I remember the days of shagging and clubing. Trouble was everyone talked about it but no-one actualy did!

The other thing I have notcied about getting older is that I am getting stronger as well. Whan I used to get an erection 30 years ago I couldn't bend it. It's dead easy now...

Just read through all this lot. I've forgotten what the question was now.

I do think you get more detached as you get older. By the time your 're in your 20's the hormones aren't driving you crazy like they do when you're 16. I expect the guys who worried a lot about sex in their 20's are still worrying about it.

The things that really piss me off, is the stuff I didn't achieve - like guitar playing. I always wanted to be really good - not just some asshole that tries hard. i worried about that in my 20's - drives me nuts now, because I know I never will do it. In fact I'll probably start getting worse before too long.

Like Paul Simon says,....after changes we are more or less the same...

correct, gnu

"Sex, does not hesitate to intrude with its trash, and to interfere with the negotiations of statesmen and the investigations of the learned. Every day it destroys the most valuable relationships. Indeed, it robs of all conscience those who were previously honorable and upright."

Arthur Schopenhauer? 1788-1860. The guy that said the will to live is the fundamental reality, and, as such, the constant striving which cannot be satiated ultimately and inevitablby brings only suffering?

Could be. I dunno.
