In Sherwood Lived Stout Robin
Robert Iones, 'A Musicall Dreame or the Fourth Book of Ayres' 1609

In Sherwood lived stout Robin Hood
an archer great , none greater
His bow and shafts were sure and good,
yet Cupid's were much better
Robin could shoot at many a hart and misse,
Cupid at first could hit a hart of his,

Hey Jolly Robin, Ho Jolly Robin, Hey Jolly Robin Hood
Love finds out me as well as thee to follow me
to follow mee, to follow me
to follow me to the green wood.

A noble thiefe was Robin Hoode,
Wise was he could decieve him,
Yet Marrian his bravest mood
could of his heart bereave him,
No greater thiefe lies hidden under skies,
The beauty closely lodged in womens eyes.

Hey Jolly robin...

An Outlaw was this Robin Hoode,
his life free and unruly
Yet to faire Marrian bound he stood
And loves debt payed her duely.
Whome curbe of stricktest law could not hold in,
Love with obeyednes and a winke could winne.

Hey Jolly robin...

Now wend we home stout Robin Hood
Leave we the woods behind us,
Low passions must not be withstood
Love everywhere will find us,
I lived in field and towne and so did he,
I got me to the woods, love followed me

Hey Jolly robin...

tune to follow.

I'm not an expert at white mensueral notation - so this is "best guess" - using one interpretation I found on the web it seemed very slow - so I doubled the speed (easier then halving all the notes)

Here's the tune as given in An Elizabethan Song Book ed W.H. Auden, C.Kallman and N.Greenberg.

The tune there is rebarred regularly in 3/4 (Greenberg in the introduction states that for most of the tunes the barring was not as regular as we would read it today. In the book the original bar lines are in unbroken lines and interpolated ones in broken lines, but that's not easy to reproduce in abc, so I've given just the regular 3/4 barring).

Your guess at the tempo seems more or less in accord with that given in the book. There are some slight differences in the tune, but it is mostly the same. The text is also mostly the same. (There are also a few errors in your abc, mostly to do with text spacing in relation to the notes).
