Raggy - I'm sure they'll let you have a one-man treasure hunt on New Year's day - go out and bury yourself somewhere - then wait and see if anyone is interested enough to fight off their hangover and come to dig you up :-)

Butlers Brasserie is indeed a truly fine venue and Mine Hosts (Rosie & John) are true supporters of Folk Music, if not there you may find Ossenflags and myself enscounced in the Equine Niger quaffing copious amounts of Black Nectar and giving forth with much vim and vigour, a pastime that is also encouraged by the landlord, whom I an supposed to be marrying in the New Year

El Tedo, if I am aloud to come, you will usually find me in that excellant beer boutique "The Endevoure" or singing a song or three - and a pint or twelve - in the "Black Horse" in the company of the venerable Ragged Tashed Philanthropissed.Always something going on there. If not Rosie and John my genial hosts of the "Endeavour" usually have there fingers on the pulse and will pass on info messages etc. Do not worry tis Whitby!! were the world comes to you!!!

Sorry Raggytash but that's a very silly time to have a treasure hunt. Talk to Pete & Sheree nicely & they might let you do it on your own on New Years Day.
El ted - Session venues I can give you - times are Whitby times - very flexible!
Best just to drop into the Tap & Spile & take your chances (& a pint)

Jim - what - like those that like The Sound of Music!

Raymond - of course you have to come in fancy dress - put another vest on & come as Wales (a very tenuous link to the Prince of Wales inVESTiture)

Raymond - like Jane, I thought you were also in fancy dress - must be all those vests!
As for McDonald - well I'm sure all will be revealed on New Years Eve!!
There will also be the usual fun & games - music quiz, treasure hunt, singarounds (are they classified as fun?)

Accommodation in Whitby at New Year can get a bit tight but there're usually plenty of (non-central heating!) holiday flats. Things happen in the Tap 'n' Spile (opposite the Railway Station). Endeavour and Black Horse should get some singing, too. New Year's Eve is in the Tap, but space may be limited.
