There are a few different Barney Brannigan songs I've seen in song books but none with the ones I'm looking for of which I can remember only a few words from verse one and the chorus:
Me name is Barney Brannigan from the county of Tyrone
????????????????? the daughter of the widow Malone
Skiddy i dee o skiddy i dee o skiddy i de di day
And when I'm dressed up in me best there's none so
                neat as me

Can any one help?

Irish Traditional Music Tune Index describes a tune variously named

Barney Brallaghan
Mrs. Barney Brallaghan
Barney Brannigan
Barney Brannigans
'Twas on a Windy Night
Blewitt's Jig

At least that gives us something more to search for.

That's a completely different song, I'm afraid. The words quoted above wouldn't scan to that tune in any case. There is more information on Barney Brallaghan at  Judy Callaghan,  and sheet music can be seen at Levy, but I can't help with the song wanted. It looks "Stage Irish" on the face of it, but there are people here who will know more, I'm sure.

BARNEY BRANNIGAN - As sung by Eileen Donaghy

Me name is Barney Brannigan from the county of Tyrone.
I had an old acquaintance there. They called her Mrs. Malone.,
She had one only daughter whom I've often gone to see,
And when I'm dressed up in my best, there's none as gay as me.

CHORUS: Arrah! Barney, ye are a stranger now. How are ye gettin' on?
How is all belongin' to Pat and how is little Tom?
How is Mrs. Brannigan and the lodger Mike Malone?
Come draw your chair up to the fire and make yourself at home.

The girl's own name is Mary, whom I've often gone to see,
And though I'm fond of all the girls, there's none as sweet as she;
But when I go down to the house, I feel a trifle shy.
With me finger on the latch-key, I can hear the oul lady cry: CHORUS

Ten years we've been together, and I think it's rather long,
So now I have made up my mind with Mary I'll be goin'
Away to the church next Sunday in the merry month of May,
And when I go down to the house no more the oul lady will say: CHORUS
