Have some friends that want to create a promo CD from seaveral CDs... I'm looking for a free program that will take cuts and fade in and out. Help?

Audacity is freeware, simple to use, and will do fades.

I use goldwave, though it doesn't automatically cut and fade. It's shareware, but only brings up a nagscreen, so it's still useable.

Goldwave doesn't automatically cut and fade, but you wouldn't want it to, would you? It gives you what's better, the facility to spread the fade out (or the fade-in, or whatever that's called) as you want.
