This is probably not folk music, but I can't find it with my searching skills, so I thought I'd ask you all.

All I have of the lyric is "I'm the Halloween girl, I'm the Halloween pearl..."

The song is in a play, Bridge Octette, and most of the songs in the play come from 1890 - 1930, and most are familiar chestnuts or big band tunes. Other tunes include God Bless America, South of the Border, Sheik of Araby -- I'm looking for a MIDI of that one-- and ditto, "How Could Little Red Riding Hood...". I have the words to the last, but not a tune.

Any of you all know these or can point me at a source? Now, I've been to Lester Levy's and have sheet music for most of those, so you don't have to duplicate my efforts. All I am missing is:
1. the Halloween girl tune and words
2. tune for How Could Little Red Riding Hood...
3. MIDI of Sheik of Araby.

Thanks,
Blessings,
Barbara

You can find a midi of "The Sheik of Araby" at Rags And Boogie Midi Files.

If you get desperate I can probably write down the tune for "How Could Little Red Riding Hood" (although I haven't done it for some years).

The Rags and Boogie MIDI files gives me an error message instead of a tune. Is it only up part time, do you know, Mick? And thanks for the info. Let me check around a bit more and see if I can find the music orMIDI on LRRH before you try to write it out.
Blessings,
Barbara

Sorry Barbara I should have checked that the file could be played/download - I can't get it either!

There's a copy of midi, chords and words available at: MidNiteSun which definitely works (I've pulled the file down from there; the midi file is Sheik of Araby).

Barbara

I've put up a version of the words and tune in a new thread: Lyr Add:How Could Little Red Riding Hood. (I included the words because mine differed very slightly from some online versions I looked at. They also came from a recording by the Yacht Club Boys). I found an old jotting I'd made of the melody, but it was obviously not finalised, and I've adapted it from that. I've included 2 vesions of the tune, differing only in the three lines of the verse before the repeat of How could.. at the end. The 1st version is what I'd jotted down before, the 2nd how I think I used to sing it - that may have been my own preference. (I haven't got the recording any longer, so I can't check this. But the versions are close to the original).

There are still recordings available of the song I think.

The Templeton Sheet Music Collection at Mississippi SU has a copy (Templeton Collection - search for Randolph as author - 1 entry returned). Unfortunately it's restricted online - copyright - but you might be able to get a copy from there.

If you don't do abc, e-mail me and I'll send you midis of the 2 versions.

Mick (MCPearce0ATaolDOTcom - that a zero after my name)

I found that in the Templeton collection, too, Mick. I haven't tried, but I do have someone who may be able to find a score for me and mail it. Short of that, I'd rather have MIDIs than ABC, since my conversion program died. I'll email you. I really appreciate the work youre putting into helping me find these. (I notice I feel really crabby sometimes if I find and post a song for someone and they don't bother to reply.)
Thanks so much.
Blessings,
Barbara
