At Girl Scout camp, one of the songs we used to sing was called "Mandolin Man," i think. Part of it went something like: "and he said I want to see all that's pretty/ and he said I want to hear all that's nice/ so the people of the town, they came to him" I was just wondering if anyone knew the rest of the words, or where I might go to try to find them. all help would be appreciated. Thank you very much!!!

I think what you're looking for is by Donovan on a double LP called something like "A Gift From A Garden To A Child" &"Wear Your Love Like Heaven". I think that's how they were titled, not sure, & not sure which one of the Lps it was on. Barry

Barry Finn,

I think that Donovan album was "A Gift From a Flower to the Garden." I may be able to dig up the words if you have the right song in mind.

rejoines,

The Mandolin Man and His Secret, Donovan

He came into town with his Mandolin,
Calling all the people and they came to him.

CHO:
He said, I wanna hear all that's Pretty,
He said I wanna hear all that's Nice.

They laughed at him with his Mandolin,
They left him there with his funny Grin. CHO:

The Children of the town then came to him,
Magically called with his Mandolin. CHO:

They smiled at him with his Mandolin.
Their eyes like his were sparkling.

They said d'ya wanna hear all that's Pretty,
They said d'ya wanna hear all that's Nice. CHO:

From the album "A Gift From a Flower to a Garden".

Good luck with the song.

Roger in Baltimore

Thanks Roger, I knew it was buried about here somewhere, that's only one of the gems (my opinion) from that release. Barry
