Over the years I have collaborated with a number of different musicians who now live in different areas. We've often talked about putting out a CD. My question - is it possible to record part of the tracks in one studio (say guitar and vocals) and then send these tracks to someone across the country, have them go into a studio, and add fiddle, whistle, etc.? For various reasons, it isn't possible to get everyone together to record in a studio, but we'd like to do the project together. What would be the best format for doing this? Anybody have experience with something like that? Thanks for the input.

as long as the two studios have compatible equiptment I don't see how this would be any different then laying down seperate tracks at two seperate sessions.
