Iam looking for a pedal harp in the UK. Prefer an old scrap one that I could do up. Anybody know of anything that fits the bill?

Have you tried contacting any shops?

Yes, but they are usually mint, and so is the price! Iam hoping that someone has an old harp covered in cobwebs stuck in a corner (or in the attic) that is no longer any use, but in need of restoration.

You'd have more luck finding a used lap harp than a pedal harp, I think. You might try contacting the Symphony Orchestras and see what they do when a harp needs replacing.........it's very probable that the instrument belongs to the harper but perhaps the Symphony office could give you a name to contact.

Thanks Sorcha, that's good advise. I already have a lap harp, + a Celtic harp and a small orchesteral type lever harp. But I will look into what you are sujesting.
