There are lots of events happening online during this pandemic. I get a lot of event announcements by email and don't know where to put them. Let's use this thread as a place to announce them. Once the event date is past, I'll delete them.

Please feel to post notices for performances you think we'd enjoy. Be sure to include the URL (address) of the performance, even if you can't make it into a link.

From: Joe Offer
Date: 08 Aug 20 - 01:56 AM

Hi Joe,

I just wanted to let you know that my bluegrass group, the “Goat Hill Girls”, will be playing Saturday Aug 8, at the virtual Good ol' Fashioned Bluegrass Festival.
We play from 5:50-6:30 pm.

I am really looking forward to this, as it’s my first concert since I broke my wrist in November. This is the first time us musicians and the sound tech crew have done this, so there may be glitches or delays. But I hope you can attend online, and have some fun ! Here is the link.

Goderich Celtic Roots Festival

View on YouTube or Facebook

Free entry, with donation site available.

Sat Aug 8, 2020 from 1-6 PM Eastern time. This is Part 2, but as of now Part 1, which aired on Fri 8/7/20, is still available on YouTube.

I've never been to this festival but after watching Part 1, I really hope to get there next year! Part 1 featured Scottish, Irish, French Canadian, Folk music and more. There were brief but interesting interviews with the performers and other people associated with the festival.Tomorrow's lineup includes the group Cherish the Ladies and Joe Jencks, among others.

And if you're watching in real time, it will be over early enough to still catch Ed Trickett's concert that Joe mentions above. I'm planning to watch that too!

The number of online festivals and workshops is overwhelming.
The calender of Fiddle Hell (Massachusetts but online) itself is overwhelming. Dates 15-18 Apr (& 3 months access to videos)
https://fiddlehell.org/online

Before that on the weekend of 9-11 April, from Oregon, there is the Menucha Ukelele Band Camp and from east coast USA, the Old Time Guitar Retreat. In the case of the Guitar retreat, you can register for individual workshops if you don't want to to purchase a full weekend ticket.

This weekend, 19-20 March; there is the Inishowen Traditional Singing Festival from Ireland http://inishowensinging.ie/. The Nonsuch Dulcimer Club (UK) spring fling is on as well, but registrations closed last weekend. The club has been having some online sessions and short workshops during online, so if you play either hammered dulcimer or mountain dulcimer you could look them up - especially if you are in the same side of the Atlantic.

Ruth & Sadie Price
April 15   7:30-8:30 Greenwich Mean Time
Falcon House Concert, Whitby, UK

http://www.youtube.com/user/Tulip0852/live

What is it about siblings’ voices that makes them blend so magically? Sisters Ruth and Sadie Price present spine-tingling harmonies as they belt out a few rousing chorus songs and maybe a shanty or two in the next Falcon House Concert. Firm favorites of Whitby Folk Week, and regulars at many traditional singers’ clubs and festivals around England, the two sisters offer some of the finest examples of traditional Yorkshire song.
