Wonder if anyone has the video of this film which contains
a leaflet with information about the "WITNESSES" ?????

I think this was included in the first VHS release which
was on two tapes, but might have been in later releases.

Please pm if you have it. THANKS!!!

Thomas.

The story is based loosely on John Reed's early experiences - he wrote a magnificent eye-witness account of he Russian Revolution.
I wonder if anybody saw the one of his work in Mexico

FWIW
from Wiki:
Two films are based on Reed's accounts of the Mexican Revolution, one with two parts released a year apart. Mexican director Paul Leduc made Reed: Insurgent Mexico (1973). A Mexican–Soviet-Italian co-production released Red Bells (1982) and Red Bells II (1983), both directed by Sergei Bondarchuk, with Franco Nero as Reed.

The 1973 film seems to have been issued on VHS, but don't see
any DVD or BD release - anyone know if it is available ??

Louise Bryant also wrote about the Russian Revolution in
"Six Months in Red Russia" (Reed's book is TEN DAYS THAT SHOOK THE WORLD).

Thomas.

I wasn't crazy about the film - thought it was all about Warren Beatty more than anything else ... but no doubt I was the only one on earth who felt that way ....

Also worth watching is the 1928 Sergei Eisenstein film based on Reed's book. The film is also called "Ten Days That Shook the World".

" The film is also called "Ten Days That Shook the World"."
Was that the one released as 'October'?
If so - excellent - as life-changing as the book (almost)
Jim

As it turns out the original title of the film was " October: Ten Days That Shook the World." When I saw it they had dropped "October" from the title.

I was a bit meh about the film, sad as I expected to love it.

Would it be worth contacting the Warren Beatty fan club (if there is a fan club - but surely with that apricot scarf there must be) to ask if any members have it and could send you a photo of the liner notes?
