She did an interview with Terry Gross on the Fresh Air program on NPR. It was an interesting interview. She sounded much older than her 60 years, though. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds, is 84 now. Debbie has had her share of health problems.
Fisher's father was singer Eddie Fisher, who left Reynolds in 1959 to marry Elizabeth Taylor. Eddie Fisher died in 2010.

My parents had this incredibly vital relationship with an audience, like muscle with blood. This was the main competition I had for my parents' attention: an audience. Carrie Fisher

That first movie was long, long ago, too.

And now we all have to re-watch When Harry Met Sally..., where she (Carrie Fisher) stole EVERY SINGLE scene she was even anywhere near.

Chess?
Did you never hear Eddie Fisher sing,
"I'll Hold You In My Heart
Until I Hold You In My Arms" ?

Not the most discriminating artist, but the pipes were God-given.

Mr. Fisher wrote with great tenderness of his daughter Carrie in his memoirs.
