I just discovered a progression for alot of stuff while trying to figure out a Rev. G. Davis song. It is 1, 0 flat. minor, 4, & 5 so like a, g flat minor , f, e . It also goes in shirley & Lee; I feel good, and Simon and Garfinkle the boxer , I think. . That chord also figures in the progression for now and then theres a fool such as I

Check out Stefan Grossmans' Sebastapol videos. He was of student of Reverand Gary. I suspect you might find what you're looking for there.
