From: altheo@nextmedia.gr
Date: 10 Jun 99 - 04:05 AM

Because here, in Greece, is very difficult to find staff about traditional celtic music, I find your site very, very usefull. Congradulations !!!

Now, can you help me finding the lyrics of CHRISTIE MOORE'S "Ride on", is one of my favorite ballands!. And can you suggest me other beautifull ballands like this one or the "Fisherman's song" from Silly Wizard?

Thank you very much.

Theodore Alexiou

Hi,

welcome to Mudcat..... THE FISHERMAN'S SONG is in the database but I couldn't find Ride on, (although I'm sure we've had a thread on it before)

RIDE ON Christy Moore

True you ride the finest horse I've ever seen,
Standing sixteen one or two with eyes wild and green.
You ride the horse so well, hands light to the touch,
I could never go with you no matter how I wanted to.

CHORUS

Ride on, see you,
I could never go with you no matter how I wanted to.

When you ride into the night without a trace behind
Run your claw along my gut one last time
I turn to face an empty space where you used to lie
And look for the spark that lights the night through the tear drops in my eye
^^

CHORUS

slainte

alison

Y'assou Theodore, welcome to Mudcat. I lived in Thessaloniki in the late 70's, and the thought of someone looking for Celtic music from Greece makes me smile. You will like it here. Back in a while with some ballads. Cheers, Dave.

Nothing strange, at all. I smile because I like the idea.
