Will S R please reveal his identity? If you have studied the MY Space of Rafflesbear you should be able to work it out that he isn't S R. In my day S R was, and probably is a toothpaste that tastes disgusting. Anyway, for once TDL have the upper hand. Raffles... you know where to get regular fixes of TDL....every Friday and Monday nights.

Hoff does that mean "Have I had a beer tonight" or "am I having a beer tonight (Tuesday after practice"?

I have been doing some snooping and some research, AND, AND, I might have solved the mystery of the mysterious Rafflesbear!!!

His initials (I THINK) are S R !!!!!!!??????????????

"The one who isn't in any of the photos because he was behind the camera - to be honest you don't really know me although TDL do

rafflesbear"

Very sneaky Rafflesbear!!! Nice picture of "you" in the caravan - racking my brain to think if I can recognise it.

Fellow Threaders/Fellowess Threaders - our mission is to find and reveal the true identity of the Rafflesbear!! ;-p

Don't worry Vicar, Romany Man is quite harmless when you know him.

Rafflesbear - stop encouraging him!

By the way - no new news on the pond!

I can answer the one about who is Rafflesbear - IT'S ME !!

The one who isn't in any of the photos because he was behind the camera - to be honest you don't really know me although TDL do

rafflesbear

Romany man - you're in the wrong thread - we're stretching it already to include the pond in the Crown festival thread - but Knockholt ...... :-)

however if you were going to do it - just remove the fencing and the builders bags - push the rocks into the pond and block up the bit by the Crown where the water drains out - job done 10 minutes max.

more importantly LETS ATTACK THE POND at dead of night with loadsa planning we could do it up, i of course will supervise sat astride seamus wearing a big black cloak tied above the head and become the headless horseman should anyone of the otford mafia turn up, no one would belive them, and the restg could get away, well sounds good to me but then i am abit touched

Well, we have all be debating and supposing, and it has to be said ----- WHO IS RAFFLESBEAR!!!????

He/She is "known" to lots of us obviously, is local to the Sevenoaks, Otford, Eltham, Bromley locale, drives past the pond in Otford on a regular basis AND YET ......... their identity remains a mistery, EVEN to some of those who are VERY knowledgeable and have mixed in these hallowed circles for years!!!

Discuss ..........

Thank you Richard, your offer was seriously considered, however it was the storage problem we had to consider. We ended up getting a Sprite Musketeer up here very local, including storage. Very basic but hopefully very dry and warm.

I am looking for a good home for my little old caravan, Fisheye - but maybe the guitar shelves will not please the distaff side.

The floor is a little creaky in places but that can be re-done in a weekend.

The dent in the roof is watertight - it let not one drop over the last Knockholt and re-doing the mastic is easy if and when it becomes necessary.

The beds can be used as two singles or one double.

The following all work fine: -
Oven
Grill
Hob
Water heater
Gas fire
Shower
TP2 battery pack
All electrics & gas

The fridge was new and nearly £400 last year.

The Portapotti can be removed from the shower room if you wish.

I can also take out the large subwoofer if you wish, leaving a smaller sound system!

She won't last for ever, but she is still eminently usable, and she is light and compact to manhandle and tow.

Mmmmmm.... A winter fest? now that could be a possibility to put to the Folkmob committee. After the last soaking I am sure a good freeze will do the system good.
But alas I have finally been beaten by the 'Fair Maiden of Nottingham' into getting a caravan. so my canvas days have gone, gone, gone (thank God)

Fisheye

Well, what can you say???!!! - If we had gone to Knockholt THIS weekend just gone, what a difference a week makes!!!!

Still, we still had to put a tent up this weekend!!! We took our new one down on the Sunday morning, so it was still wet. Put it up in Dilligaf's garden yesterday and it has now dried out nicely and has been packed away until next yeah (yeahhhhh! - we have been camping for a good two thirds of the weekends since April!!).

Never mind the weather - Val and I had a great time. I know I didn't sing as much as I have done in the past, but it was nice to just sit a chill and catch up with everyone, especially Ken and Laura, Richard, Sam and Rachael, Royston to name but a few.

Looking forward already to the Summer '09 one!!!

Best wishes to all, see you during the months ahead.

Kev

Has I was saying
"What a great Knockholt despite the torrents of rain.
Well done to everyone who braved Wind and Rain, Mud and Flood and still the Fire burned and still the Music played.

Thanks to Sue and Mick for the lift into Orpington.I will always remember Mick Forde saying to me "Go change those trousers I am not walking through Orpington with you covered in Sheep shit.

My Polish friend Chrissey is facinated by the whole thing and wonders how people can play so well so pissed. I missed my meal because of her "silly women. She said she was on the Lane I thought she ment Stonings lane so off I flew to meet her when I got to bottom of Stonings lane no one there? Turns out she on the Lane by the Crown the next pub down so I waited in the Tally ho and a hour and a half later she turns up.
Finally.
Thanks to the Bar Staff of the Tally Ho who gave us the loan of 2 umberella,s and a pair of wellies and two rounds of sandwichs Free so my polish friend could eat stay dry and wade through the flooded lane .rather then me give her a piggyback which the locals thought would end with her and me falling Arse over Head. because I was pissed. Absolute nonsense. They could have given us a torch it was Cave dark up that lane thanks TO god we both work the Caves in Chislehurst. Excellent Knockholt Roll on June. Take care all.

I am pleased to announce that the Fordes did manage to get out of the field unassisted, we made it through the mud and sludge on a wing and a prayer, Brians nephew was holding open the gate for us so we didn't have to stop and I don't know who was more surprised him or us. We then went to find the farmers son and sent him back with his tractor to rescue Brian who thought he was going to be stuck there until June as his nephew wasn't able to get his car into the field. We've not yet made it back for the marquee and up until yesterday the toilets were still there. At least the 14th September knockholt will stand out from all the others not only because of the mud but for the good company, good food, and the brilliant time we all had in spite of the adverse conditions.

What a weekend! After disastrous van trouble (broken master cylinder) we finally made it there on the Friday. Yes the weather was appalling and the wettest knockholt ever but we all got stuck in s'cuse the pun and made the most of it.

Richard I'm so glad you still managed to enjoy your birthday, despite any thoughts you might have you are a very well loved and respected friend to many people and it's a priveledge to know you.

We also heard the mysterious whistler on Sat night it was very surreal and very beautiful, whoever it was they should have come and joined us, perhaps they had and we just couldn't see them!

We made it out in one go as I thought there might be problems we left fairly early before it all got too churned up. Apologies for not staying till last and helping with the marquee as we usually do.

Roll on next year June.
