From: Phot

After being pestered by the cats for food this morning, I noticed that it was a bit light for seven in the morning, so I pulled back the curtain and took a look............There's an inch of snow on the deck!! And its still coming down like no ones buisness. Does anyone else seem to be having this weather?

On the plus side, I can go and make a snowman for the first time in twenty odd years, and I can take the Landrover out for a play too!!

Wassail!!! Chris

It's snowing proper snow in London too!! A frosty welcome for the Olympic torch that's supposed to be passing through the borough today... even frostier than the welcome I'd give it, if I could be bothered!

We have about an inch so far, with big, fat, fluffy flakes and no sign of it stopping!

It'll be the first time Limpit has been able to make a snowman since she was 6, although, because our garden is sheltered by tall shrubs and trees, it'll have to be a very small snowman.

That's right John. I think it's really disgusting that in this day and age someone can get away with casually referring to "a snowman". For goodness sake, these days it's a "snowperson"...

North East Coast (UK) and we've missed the snow again.

How can it do this to us. We haven't had any real proper snow yet this winter?

Those southerners take everything. They can't even leave us our snow.

"" Snowing """" well that explain why we have this beautiful weather
here in Iceland , blue sky and sunny days , day after day no wind but its cold
yet , but the spring is around us .

so , good luck shuffling the snow , and drive slower than you
do in a normal day will you .

Rats! It's been snowing! I thought this might be the first year in all my six decades when no snow at all fell (UK east coast), but there it incontrovertibly is. Only had to de-ice the car once this winter, too.

It's a snow day here in Minnesota! I can't go to work (yeah!) because of our 24" of new snow fall and still coming. As a matter of fact, I was stranded in town Sat. night when it started. We had a foot by midnight Saturday and throughout Sunday, recieved another foot. I had to leave my vehicle in town and I was saved by a four wheel drive to get me home. More today then clearing out I hope. I need to get back into town to get my vehicle as soon as we get plowed out around here.
We just got more snow in one day than we had all winter. Quite a trip. Now that I just called in to work... think I'll just go snuggle in back to bed!
Have a great day!
Rustic

Lots of sun, lots of mud and lots of big holes in the road created by freezing and thawing, referred to here as "frost heaves" One local policeman was heard to say that they have stopped arresting Vermonters for drunk driving because everyone is driving erratically to avoid big holes in the road, so it's hard to tell who's drunk and who's sober. At this point in the season, however, darned few of us are sober.

My sister lives in the New Forest -- gets deer and what not in her garden. Said she woke up to snow the other day and looked out side and the baby deer (I do believe that would be fawns?) absolutely did not know how to deal with the stuff .. virtually tripping over where they stood and thoroughly pissed off with the whole thing........

I still have snow piled five feet (155cm) high on my front lawn, from the road being cleared, and knee deep everywhere else. It is such a comfort to read that many others are enjoying snow too. LOvely to look at, isn't it?

In the first week on June in 1976 ( a bloomin hot summer if I remember) we had some flurries of snow! I remember cos I was a postal clerk and had to carry my bag of internal mail in and out of the offices of an agricultural machinery manufactuerer in Ludlow, Shropshire (UK).

Thank goodness I've heard this from another source. No-one believes me but I was told it by my butcher in 1978 (I was living in South Africa in '76). He said he remembered it snowing because it was the day of his dad's funeral.

You'd think, that living in Alaska would denote snowy weather. Robo is in Anchorage which is farther north (and west) than Juneau, where I am. His winters are longer and colder than ours so our weather expectations are different. But sometimes we get the same storm passing through.

Last night, when I trekked home from the first night of Folk Festival it was kind of nice out, drizzling light rain but not cold. (Our standards are notoriously low here!)

This morning we had a beautiful white world. On the sidewalks, the snow was crunchy but the streets were slick and hard with ice.

April 15 is the deadline in southeast Alaska for removing studded tires- this morning I imagine some people wish they hadn't removed them early.
