Danny Farrell was written by Pete St John, the man who wrote the bloody awful Fields of Athenry.
I sing Danny Farrel, and will try to write out the words, but I'm not sure of some of the spellings

Unfortunately it's not the same words attributed to The Dubliners as given in the D.T. database!

I suspect, in fact, that this is probably due to someone mishearing or failing to understand some of the "cultural context" of the song while listening to a recording but I felt it was better to give the song as written rather than simply refer the person who requested the lyrics to the version given in the D.T.

I think Emma's right. Some of the song's words are in Irish, which it's easy to mishear/spell; and around here at least it IS sung as "people police hater" (one of the few weak lines in this song IMHO); and the "worriers" is actually a reference to Wellington boots. Etc.
