You're doing great work on that novel, Kat! Such discipline!

I got exercise this evening by moving furniture around. The dining table is against a different wall, the things that were on that wall moved over, and a couple of things moved completely across the room. It'll need more tweaking, but this should allow the easy movement of a couple of things to make a lot of room for expanding the table for lots of people.

I'm not trying to diet or follow a particular plan, but I'm keeping portion small and avoiding the sweets altogether. I'll have pie on Thanksgiving, but limit it to that. Dieting this time of year is difficult, I'll settle for a slight weight loss or just not gaining any back.

Maryanne, I've heard about some wonderful spreads available in restaurants for Thanksgiving dinner. When I was a teen my parents divorced, so the holiday meal that was difficult was xmas eve with Dad. No place had much of anything to choose from, and we had an awful meal out the first year, then as the oldest (at 15) I insisted we cook something at his house, and thus began the tradition of the baked salmon for xmas eve dinner. He'd buy a fresh fish from one of the reservation fishermen and I'd bake it. He never managed a very big tree, but it got better every year. For me, the meal is the most important part of these end of the year holidays.
