I finished cutting limbs and pruning the vitex out front and there is a pile of branches to go in the trash on Monday and some again on Thursday. They might not pick up any if I put too many out, so I'll pace myself. I could feel a bit of an ache in my arm and shoulder this afternoon since I got my annual flu shot yesterday at work, but this was a great upper-body workout. I did all of the cutting with a bow saw and loppers.

I pulled the soaker hose from the west side of the house, out through the canna lilies and through the hibiscus and irises in front. This will make it easier after the first frost when some of these things melt in to mats of fiber. All of that stuff is in the compost now.

The dogs have been bathed, and I found a soft swelling under the pit bull's neck. It's like she has a wattle now, like an old lady. It feels very soft, like there is fluid or fat in there. It doesn't hurt her and I think it turned up fairly recently - I take off the wider rather tight collar when I walk them and hadn't noticed it a couple of days ago. I'll watch it for a couple of days and see if it changes or goes away. Anyway, when they're dry I'll put the Revolution on them.

I finished my phone research. I'll get the VTech blueray phone to dock the cell phone and can use with cordless phones I already have here. I'll then go down to Radio Shack and buy one of the "Straight Up Prepaid" phones that T-Mobile puts out and put some minutes on it. And every so often I'll see how those minutes are going. I won't use it for lengthy calls, I can swap out my Sprint cell phone into the same system for that (it takes up to 8 devices). This means the cell phone rings all of the phones in the house and they all operate through the cell phone if you pick one up an dial. And it means a few dollars a month for minutes is the only cost for this phone once the base station and the inexpensive T-Moble phone have been put in place. (I hope all of this makes sense to someone other than just me. My goal is to get this phone number away from the bundled cable provider and not have to pay a lot to keep it in service on a very minimal level. The house phone number seems to be what everyone uses to identify me, so I don't want it to go back into circulation with someone else.)

I could still change my mind and just use this docking system with the cell phone I already have. I'm mulling it over.

Into the shower, and downtown to take photos of a guitar master class at the public library.
