Michelle, it sounds like a magical day! I'm so glad it went well.

Today was gorgeous here, a little cool, not much breeze, clear blue sky. If you were outside not moving around it might feel a little nippy. I tackled some pruning (since tomorrow is trash day) and that is piled ready at the curb. I took on a big bed of iris that my son and I planted probably 3 or 4 years ago. It was packed full but the soil was soft and the grass in it came out pretty easily. I bagged some iris for a friend a work, tossed a lot in the back along the creek to stabilize the bank, tossed some in the compost, and still have three bags I can give away. Big bed. They're not the most gorgeous iris, they're a dusky yellow, kind of short, but the foliage always looks so pretty. I have some other beds with the ones I'll transplant around the yard.

After that I ran to Home Depot and picked up some hardwood mulch and I just spread several bags when I drove in. That's where I'll put some winter veggies, chard and maybe kale. It's dark, the dogs are demanding attention, so I'm off again, and I'm trying to get most things done here pretty soon because I know after a couple hours of digging, once I stop, I'll crash. ;)
