Thread Name: Lyr/Chords Req: Tom Paxton Chords
Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: EV'RY TIME (WHEN WE ARE GONE)
I couldn' find this one in the DT

by Tom Paxton (1962)

(E)Ev'ry time I (A)hear a sweet bird (E)singin'
I (B7)think of you and (E)I, my dear,
I (B7)think of you and (E)I.
(E)When I hear the (A)evenin' bells a (E)ringin'
I (B7)hang my head and (E)cry, my dear,
I (B7)hang my head and (E)cry.

(E)And they will ring,
And they wil (A)ring (E)(B7)
(B7)When we are (E)gone.

Ev'ry time I hear your soft voice hummin'
My heart jumps in my breast, my dear,
my heart jumps in my breast.
An until I hear your footsteps comin'
I sure can know no rest,my dear,
I sure can know no rest.

I will love you,
I will love you
when we are gone.

Tom lapsed into a little bad grammar here, and object phrase should be "you and me" not "you and I". I fear the kid is never going to make it as a songwriter.
