"Upon Westminister Bridge"

"Earth has not anything to show more fair,"

wasn't that written about that wonderful city? "Dull would he be of soul...etc., etc." I lived in London during the 1960s and I have to say that, then at any rate, it was a cornucopia of Art, Museums,Theatre, Film, Literature, Pubs, Clubs, Ballrooms, Athletic meets, Criket, Rugby, Festivals, Exhibitions, Concerts, Pageants (If I leave out anything stop me here) and, for me, principally, All kinds of Musical performance as well as participation and, Oh yes, Association Football with the great 'Spurs. I hadn't heard that any of those events(with the notable exception of Tottenham's successes ) had died out since then. I know that many other cities have all those delights too , to a greater or lesser degree, but, which has so good and convenient a public transport system to make them so readily available to all? Tell me mudcatters, please. Does "Speaker's Corner" still flourish, at Marble Arch on Sunday mornings? Can the click of leather on willow yet be heard in the leafy fastness of Holland Park on a summer's evening ? Ch...t, has it really been that long!?
