GUEST,JJ 'Working an Audience' (29) RE: 'Working an Audience' 05 Aug 02

I wouldn't classify myself as overly witty - I'm not one of those people that always comes up with a quick one liner or an instant clever reply, and I'm not that good at telling jokes.

It all comes down to confidence. The quality of the joke doesn't matter, it really is 'how you tell 'em' By that I don't mean that you need to be a comic genius or have the greatest comic timing in the world. Just tell 'em with a bit of confidence, and be prepared to smile, and tell another if people groan or simply look stony faced.

You are at an advantage, in that your audience want to have a good time

Of course, confidence can't be bought at the local store.

(if anyone finds a place where it can, please let me know)

JJ
