Ah, the real one, Alan Turing, was gay, but the fictional one has to conform to readers'/cinema-goers' standards. And anyway, Turing had a girlfriend at Bletchley Park; I believe the lady (name escapes me--I beg her pardon) is still living. At least Harris's hero is British and can be relied on for a stiff upper lip. Steve
