I've been playing mandolin for years and somehow I'm able to mess with it for hours - until all those fiddle tunes become one in my addled brain. (Drives my family nuts, though)

What I can't do to my satisfaction (and to my family's dire consternation) is make those same tunes come alive on my fiddle. I sometimes get it right but still often manage to create truly atrocious sounds.
