In April she donated $1 million to facilitate vaccine research, specifically COVID.

Back in April, Parton donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s efforts to combat Covid-19, which included Moderna’s vaccine trial and clinical research.

And wouldn't ya know it, one of the front runners.

The cynic in me would say that she will probably make that back in goodwill sales alone, Dolly is a very astute cookie. But a donation is a donation and no expectation of any sort of payback. Vaccine research is a low odds gamble anyway.
