Anyone who teaches anything to anyone is by definition a teacher, Nigel. I would have thought you were pedantic enough to notice that one. As to the puerile quotes about schoolmasters, they are at best, like any other stereotyping, lazy attempts at humour. At worse they demonise a profession that is difficult and, at times as this thread shows, thankless.
