We're having an unprecedented heatwave. It's 34C here today (93 Fahrenheit) and while I love the heat, I feel so sorry for those having to work. Most places here have no air-conditioning. Our poor postman arrived just now and he was bright red and pouring with sweat. We gave him a couple of icy cold cans of Diet Coke. The weather forecast said in London it will be 37C today (98 Fahrenheit) I can't imagine what that must be like, in the pollution and noise etc. I've filled up both bird baths to the brim, and put out bowls of water for any small animals that need a drink. Everything seems weird just now - this blooming virus, stupendous heat, lockdown, people in masks... most disorientating!
