Every year I get two or three gigs. That’s probably all that should be expected by a dude who plays the blues on mandolin and banjos. I had intended to hustle a bit more to try to get four this year, and I had two arranged before the wheels fell off; they didn’t happen, of course. In early March, my girlfriend heard about a couple who were going to host a house concert, but instead they did it on social media to keep everyone healthy. So that’s when I started doing Facebook shows live from my home office. I’ve been doing them every few weeks, so there've been six so far. At first, it seemed odd, but I eventually warmed to it. And six gigs in a few months? That’s pretty good for the likes of me. I’m not trying to make money at it, and I have bigger audiences than ever before. It’ll be nice to play for live folk again, but this could be something I’ll even keep doing after we’re all socialized again. Has anyone here been doing the same?
