DADGBE Lyr Req: Coronavirus Songs (COVID-19; Pandemic) (125* d) RE: Lyr Req: Coronavirus Songs 05 Aug 20

This is based on Ry Cooder's version of Fiddlin' John Carson's The Farmer Is The Man Who Feeds Them All.

We quarantined through springtime, through summer, and through fall
But that virus worked the hardest and longest of us all
It worked through nights and Sundays, it worked each holiday
It settled down among us and never went away

When that virus came to town, it knocked us all right down
Oh, that Covid-19 could get us all
If youíll only look and see, I know you will agree
That the virus could really get us all

The virus is the one, just look at what itís done
That virus is the one to get us all
It gets us where we breathe, we canít get no relief
That virus is the one to kill us all

The first few started coughing, then they couldnít catch their breath
To the hospitals they went for help where many found their death
Some folks did get better, but then some more fell ill
Then the trickle turned to avalanche and then things went to hell

They came in by the hundreds, by the thousands, and then more
But not enough were tested so we didnít know the score
How many were infected, how do we stem the flow?
The president decided that he didnít want to know
