I remember Jim from his time in London in the 60s and early 70s. My most abiding memory of him is that he really knew how to use a single microphone for voice and guitar in those days before reliable DI.

Jim was a regular at the BBC Folk Club at the Marquis of Clanricarde pub in Paddington. His repertoire was considerably more eclectic than most Irish singers at the time (I'm listening to his album "Seems Like a Long Time" as I write) covering Jackson C Frank, Tom Paxton, Ralph McTell and Leonard Cohen to name but a few.

Sad to hear of his death. Thanks for the music, I'll remember you, Jim!
