GUEST,Musket curious BS: What religion is Obama? (84* d) RE: BS: What religion is Obama? 19 Sep 13

I suppose being President of a country where religion is seen as important in secular affairs, his faith is something he has to walk a tightrope with the same as any other divisive issue.

It says more of the idiots who would be concerned than the politicians pandering for their votes.

Here, the deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg tells of the day after he helped form the government after the last election, his advisors told him he must be seen to go to church. His reaction was to mention this in an interview where he also said he had no interest in religion. Reaction here? It turns out to be just about the only thing the polls say he is respected for. David Cameron on the other hand started going to church once he got the keys to No.10. I would too despite being irreligious because to get to the top in politics you need to have a hand of aces and if you don't believe in it, it doesn't attract thunderbolts to say that you do. As most politicians both sides of the pond would privately agree.
