GUEST,Andrew Lyr Req: the pride of kildare (8) RE: Lyr Req: the pride of kildare 13 Apr 13

When first I landed I'd romance in mind
So a long time I rambled some true love to find,
Then I met pretty Susan with her cheeks like a rose,
And breasts more fair than e'er white lily grows.

Oh, she wore slippers and raiment so bright,
And the robe she had on it was costly and white,
Her long neck was garnished with long raven hair,
And I learned that they called her the pride of Kildare.

It's a long time I courted till I'd wasted my store,
And I lost her to hate just because I was poor,
She's gone to love another whose fortune she'll share,
Oh my curses upon you the pride of Kildare.

Oh, my heartache next morning as I lonely did pray
To hear my pretty Susan with her young man at play,
And so I sneaked past them with my heart full of care
And I sighed for pretty Susan the pride of Kildare.

Once more on the ocean I'm resolved for to go,
I'll sail to to the east with my heart full of woe,
Maybe there i'll find women in jewels so rare,
That they'll drive from my heart the pride of Kildare.

It's sometimes I am jovial and sometimes I'm sad,
To think of my love bedded by some other lad,
But since I'm at distance now, no more I'll despair,
So good fortune go with you, the pride of Kildare.
