There has been a rash of a similar sort in Ireland. Roadside metal memorials, articles of sculpture etc are being taken. Agricultural machinery, hitherto left carelessly in roadside fields is also being targeted. Even farm yard garages and stores have been hit. Electrical cabling of course is also being stolen now and , I have heard of a few cars as well. I don't believe that individuals are carrying out these robberies, I think that there are a number of roving gangs who are responsible. They must, obviously, have a large scale means of disposal also.
