We KNOW we'll enjoy him

"Some one heard me singing out and recommended him to me metioning the song   '1917'

It was recorded by Linda Ronstadt"

Not quite right.

'1917' was on an album Ronstadt recorded with Emmylou Harris (Western Wall: The Tucson Sessions) but it was actually sung by Emmylou. Linda was on backing vocals alongside Kate and Anna McGarrigle.

The song is magnificent but in their hands it becomes one of the most poignant and moving pieces of music anyone could ever hope to hear. Niamh Parsons also did a version...

Linda Ronstadt DID record another Olney song though (Women Cross The River). Meanwhile Emmylou did at least two others (Jerusalem Tomorrow, Deeper Well)
