GUEST,Ewan McVicar Loomis House Press - Child Ballads New Edition (41) RE: Loomis House Press - Child Ballads New Edition 18 Aug 11

Some years ago, in the catalogue for the archives of East Tennessee State University I was seeking children's songs, but their system delivered to me child ballads instead. In the same place I found Leadbelly singing Queen Mary and other scratchy tracks recorded by Mary Barnicle, and African storytelling recorded when she went to the Caribbean with teenaged Alan Lomax. I tried the latter material on a West African storyteller, but he said he only spoke nine WA languages and it was none of them.
