Then you should definitely read the other one I listed, Phantom, by Susan Kay.... it's a great take on the Leroux tale. Goes more in depth about Erik's background... his childhood, his passion for music, his life before the Paris opera. Wonderful book.... my copy is ragged from being read and re-read.... -Branwen-
