GUEST,Andy Kiveton FC 40th Anniversary bash (12) Kiveton FC 40th Anniversary bash 09 Mar 10

For the attention of all South Yorkshire folkies! Kiveton Park Folk Club celebrates its 40th year with a folk day on Saturday 13th March. We've been open every Tuesday night (except one) since 14th March 1970.That must be a bit of a record. We've had some great times over the years and had some of the folk worlds notable performers including Lou Killen, Christy Moore, McColl and Seeger, The Ranters, Martin Carthy, Joe Heaney and many more too numerous to mention.
To mark the occasion we're having a free full day of folk, starting at noon, ongoing till 11pm. It will be a continuous singaround, varied by session music, Morris dancing and short spots by some of the many local artistes who have graced our stage over the last 4 decades. It will be a day for folk to come along to sing, play, soak up the atmosphere or maybe just chat to old mates.
All are invited and we look forward to seeing lots of old (and young)faces on the day. Meanwhile, spread the word. Obviously we don't have everyone's address or phone number. Local clubs have been notified and we are expacting a good turn out. There'll be hot food available at reasonable prices and a cheap bar.

Very best wishes from all at Kiveton Park Folk Club.We look forward to seeing you on the day.
