Putting my piano tuner hat on here...laminated top guitars are at a disadvantage in that the string vibrations are not being amplified as efficiently as with a solid top guitar.
I don't think there is a solution...except save up for a better instrument.
I know from personal experience the joy I got from playing my first guitar with a solid top. I discovered tone, which is essentially one of the ways emotion in music is communicated.
I guess in desperation you could fill the instrument with that expanding foam stuff that plumbers use to bung up holes in walls....the sound box isn't doing anything productive in this instance, so fill it might sound better...on the other might not.
