Yes, the lyrics of the first line sound exactly like what you wrote.
I noted 2 other possible deviations in my book:

In the last line of verse 1 it says "where the Indians prowl". I'm not sure if the word is "prowl" or "are".

In verse 3 last line the book has "to her I can compare" and I hear "of her I can compare".

One is change of meaning, and one a replacement of an archaic form of speech.

Oh well,at least I have the sheet music for the tune.
