Joe Richman Lyr Req: Roving Cowboy (Buell Kazee) (12) Lyr Req: Buell Kazee's Roving Cowboy ? words 05 Aug 06

I have this on an old 78 and also the words and music (including chords) published in Centerstream Publishing's book "Songs 'Round the Campfire" (Ron Middlebrook compiler).

My problem is this:

According to SRTC, the first line of the first verse is:

"Come all you roving cowboys, bow down your head and hand"

However I can't make out any of the words on the recording after the comma to be what is written here.   All the rest of the words of this and all other verses are reasonably correct, as near as I can tell.

So is it "bow down" or "bound down" ? or what? And what should you bow down or what is bound down?

A digital copy of the 78 (RA) is on this website:

Maybe somebody more familiar with Kentucky accents can help me here.

Joe
