For reasons incomprehensible there are people who want a 'stressed' instrument. My neighbor is an expert. He takes electric guitars and with a combination of techniques makes them look like time worn road dogs. Gibson sells a 'stressed Loar' for several thousand dollars more than one that looks new. I don't get it, but I guess there's a market for it. Would agree with the previous post it would be much harder to fool a player who knew their stuff than a 'collector/dealer' looking to make a buck.
